What can YOU do about it?

In fact, you already have made a start. Most people don't seek out a web
site like this one unless they think they have to change something about
the way they drink.

All we ask you to do is keep an open mind and become willing to listen to
others that have walked the walk.

What can WE do about it?

We are not against people drinking. If someone wants to drink, that is
their business.

If they find they are having difficulty in stopping or controlling they drinking
then we may be able to help.

We are people that have found a way to arrest the age old and universal
problem of active alcoholism.

But I am not an alcoholic, I just want to know how to
control my intake.

Many of us were in the same frame of mind when we first admitted that
we had to do something about our own drinking.
Don't worry, you may not be an alcoholic like us.
But, if you would like to know more about it, you are welcome to attend a
meeting with other people who are in recovery.

Where can I find these people?

On the left you can see a list of places where people gather in groups to
help one another to solve their common problem - alcoholism.
On each page for each different location you will find where these meeting
take place and contact information of real people who will be happy to
help you. Click a link and go. It may be the best thing you've done in a long
time.

See if you can identify with some of the stories

You will also find some links to other pages on this web site. On some of
these pages you may find material that will show that you are no longer
alone with a problem that is widespread throughout the world  and one
that has no respect for race, colour, creed or social standing. I shall try my
best to update and add suitable material on a regular basis to encourage
you to.................
. KEEP COMING BACK.
Has your drinking ceased to be enjoyable?

If the answer is NO then you don't need to read any more.
But if the answer is YES or even MAYBE, then try to keep an open mind
and read some more.

If alcohol is costing you more than just money, then maybe you would like
to find out what you can do about it.

Trying to figure it out on your own can be unbearable. Just when you think
you have got the problem under control you are drunk again. Why is this?

We who have travelled this road know just what its like to wake up in
strange places not knowing how or when we got there.

Hiding our drinking patterns from our families, employers and friends
became a way of life for many of us. We reached a point of despair.

We lost our jobs, driving licences, girl/boyfriends, wives/husbands,
children, friends, dignity, self respect et al. We were filled with fear and
remorse and with some of us plain terror.
